Disguster - Ferocious Hell Blizzard
New Disguster promo. This was supposed to be released as a 10" EP, but seeing as that fell through, it is being released to all for free. As always, it rips and is worth the time and download.

It's not to common that a blog posts something of mine that isn't already up here. It's completely wacky that something I didn't even release officially got out into the interwebs. So, I have been tracking some demo tracks up on the Auspicium bandcamp website just to get some feedback and get the word out there for new material coming soon. This was just a precursor to the actual recordings of HIAYH, which is actually gonna have a real live drummer, as opposed to my shitty programming. So since I cant put the proverbial cat back in the bag, here is the OFFICIAL Hope is All You Have DEMO with 4 songs.

Two more WF releases. Tree of Human Debris is noise and pyschotic black metal overtones. Good for doing lots of drugs to. The Black House is like Songs of Surrender, but with a more downtrodden attitude. It features a cover of Current 93's Soft Black Stars and Swans' Alcohol the Seed.

This is a project of one of our readers. He descirbes it as Post-Black metal. To me, it sounds like the hybrid of Isolationist/DS black metal and Saetia (for those who aren't familiar with Saetia, they were a "screamo" band from the 90's. This is when screamo was a synonym for Chaotic Hardcore, not anime hair and overproduced douche shit music. Go to youtube and search for Venus and Bacchus.), with a touch of post rock. If you are a purist you might not like it. However, if you enjoyed Vestiges or Yellow Eyes, you'll definitely want to give this a spin.

"This is the first demo-release of my musical project Celephaïs. The demo is called "Becoming The Deceased". Musically it's some kind of PostRock-Influenced Black Metal or something. The demo is a digital release meant for free downloading, but maybe some discs will be pressed in the future"
This descripion says it all. Very well put together Post-Black Metal. My only gripe is the drum programming being a little too prominent in the mix, predominantly the cymbals. No vocals.

Slightly less off the wall than The Drunk and the Endless. Serpent and Sodom is a journey into a world of summers ending, occultism, and the power of "sin". Lo-fi Neofolk/neoclassical blend the ilk of Sol Invictus and Agalloch's neofolk material.

So back in '09 I told you that Avulse might not release anything after Granted but Grace from this World, fuck me right? If anything, don't expect GbGftW: Part 2. To start, its a much darker album, without being more abrasive. Musically, it roots itself again in the punk/d-beat/black metal hybrid, moving away from the earlier releases of bestial black metal.

This is Melting Snow Reveals Our Blood, the rarest Intra Tenebrae release, through Darkness Shade Records . It was released on ultra limited cassette (8 copies) and sold to a select few people in the UKBM scene.

This is our first recording, we released it as a split tape with anchor rites from brooklyn, but i don't have their side of the split but its mostly just our demo anyway. We actually were a two-piece when we recorded this and are now working on becoming a three-piece so hopefully we'll be able to make more stuff in the near future and further develop our sound.
Our songs are also on www.stereokiller.com/drudgery in case you wanna listen to them before you spend time downloading it.
This is a nice release. It has some nice melodic passages, has a very powerful presence, and can do some great things. Just get a better snare sound.

Decent raw black metal from New Jersey. There is some pretty good riffage here, and its not a single monotone beat.

Pretty decent black metal with flourishes of death metal. The songs have decent use of keyboards, without becoming cheesy or symphonic or just fucking lame. What is lame is the cover that is included/have on their bandcamp site. It has tour dates on it, so I am using another of their logos with it.

Vestiges formed in January of 2010 as a two-piece band. Influenced by hardcore, black metal, crust, screamo, and post-rock, the band set out to incorporate elements of each genre to articulate their message both musically and lyrically. A third member was added to the band shortly before entering the studio to record The Descent Of Man. The band and a filmmaker are currently in the process of producing a film to visually capture the theme of The Descent Of Man. The Descent Of Man follows the creation, the evolution, and the eventual annihilation of mankind. Today, we find ourselves hoping to reverse the damage that we have done and struggling to sustain what little earth we have yet to rape repeatedly. We validate this existence with stories that justify our behavior and our role in the natural world. The promise of salvation in a land we have yet to see has clouded our judgment in a land that is right before our eyes. Industrialization, militarization, overpopulation, theism, specieism, and nihilism are regarded as evolution and progress. Our greed and ignorance have been celebrated and our past has been forgotten. We were meant to be a part of nature. We were not meant to conquer nature. We were given life and we have done everything in our power to bring death upon everything in our path, including ourselves. There will be horrifying consequences for what we have done.
This is an interesting release. If you are looking for the blackened crust chaos of Martyrdod or Dishammer, this isnt what you are looking for. However if you are looking more towards a black metal that hybridizes with the epic crust that bands like Fall of Efrafa play, this is a pretty damn spot on choice.

Our good friend Nick from Disguster sent me this earlier. He is playing the drums like a fucking brute here. Raw, punked out black metal that catches the ethos of the first wave without sounding hokey.

Disclaiming it now: this isn't black metal. However, I can't record a god damn thing without a bit of black metal showing up in the sound. This is, as some of you know, an EP by Wholy Failure, another act I am involved with. The other WF releases are harsh ambient/noise, but this one is a Shoegaze/Post Punk hybrid, and as always, spicy little hints of BM always flavoring the mix. I hope some of you freaks enjoy it.

Shit. This is a great fucking record. Melodic, but not cheesy. Emotive, without being "depressive". Yellow Eyes take modern black metal, add a bit of post rock and chaotic hardcore influence, and create a great record. This is their first, not even fully available yet. So download it and enjoy.

Great fucking raw atmospheric black metal out of Chicago. It sounds like the Lurker of Chalice lp coated in more reverb and with occasional choral vocals.

Another terrific EP by one our favorite newer bands. This is gonna be his last release before his final LP, "Beyond Her There are Glorious Swells". Terrific mid to slower paced black metal with powerful vocals and lyrics that celebrate their own culture, instead of celebrating the nordic influence. Damn great release and while I can't wait for BHTAGS, I want him to keep producing music.

Punky d-beat driven black metal with excellent production and composure from Greece. Too bad this is their only release. Bassist and drummer play in Dodsferd, as well as a handful of other Greek bands. Seriously though, one of the best black metal releases that encompasses anything punk.

Raw dirty crust infused black metal from that Ancestors guy, good shit!

This is basically Urfaust with a folkish feel, good stuff, some metal and some ambient providing an all together enjoyable listen.

Thanks neighbors a block away that don't password protect your wifi, I can't upload shit. Don't worry though shitnuggets, the blackness will live on.
In keeping with this being a non-traditional post, here is a video for the last song on the last Auspicium record that's coming out on 9th meridian this March.
