Empire of Tharaphita / Drowning the Light - Path of the Old Lunar Cult Empire
Split release featuring a new Finnish one-man band and Drowning the Light. Empire of Tharaphita starts off the split with some really enjoyable raw black metal, top-notch compositions with a unique atmosphere, the production is a bit on the raw side but everything can be heard, meaning, you actually get to hear the bass; real good stuff here. Drowning the Light does some of the more usual slower paced black metal, the sound here is actually quite decent but still quite raw. Great release, Empire of Tharaphita is definitely the better band here, looking forward to future releases by him!
