After the splitting of Belketre, Lord Aakon Keetreh formed his own project, an ambient experimentation that held true to the precepts of the Les Legions Noires (the Black Legions). Although only three EPs (demos really) were released, he achieved a similar level of acclaim to other bands in the LLN.

Belgian/Flemish Black Metal act incited by drummer Azagdaimon, Avatar first emerged with their 'The Emperors Of The Night' demo. Vocalist Daemas quit forcing Occulta (a.k.a. Jeroen van Gorp) to both play guitar and sing. Switching Anjelen to guitar as well, Avatar pulled in female bassist Hyberia just prior to inking no less than two record deals with Belgian companies Wood Nymph Records and Shiver Records. Avatar shared stages in Europe with Cradle of Filth, In The Woods and Dimmu Borgir.
The band resurfaced in 1998 sporting an all new line up. Alongside longstanding members vocalist / guitarist Jeroen van Gorp and keyboardplayer Ivan Op De Beeck , Avatar introduced Klaartje Keppens on female vocals and bassist Stijn Buys.
They recorded a new album but it was never released.
Shortly after, they recuited Chris Heylen on drums, who was playing drums in 'In de Schaduw' at that time.
Again the band wanted to change musical directions, this time in a more 'Sisters of Mercy' kind of way and went on for some time under the name 'The Avatar' before they split up.

Troll is a Norwegian black metal band. It was founded in 1992, when 14-year-old Nagash started writing music with Glaurung and Fafnir. When Glaurung and Fafnir left the project, Nagash continued Troll as a solo project and released Trollstorm over Nidingjuv in 1995 and Drep de kristne in 1996. The latter album (the title means Kill the Christians in English) had an emphasize on anti-Christian lyrics. Consequently, Troll became associated with troll metal.

Insignium is a black metal band formed in 1996 located in Hagen, Germany. The founding members are Shoggoth and Apollyon. Their style can be described as melodic black metal with certain death metal elements, somewhat akin to Swedish band Naglfar. The music is usually played in mid-tempo. The lyrics primarily deal with "typical" black metal topics such as death and evil - however, the band does not explicitly promote an Anti-Christian message. The lyrics also seem to be influenced by H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos. For example, the founding members' stage name Shoggoth is a reference to the fictional creature described by Lovecraft. Faustcoven was started in 2002 by Gunnar Hansen, who longed for the 80's approach to black metal.Out of a burning interest for the more riff based 80's style, and a general weariness of the trebly, synth-based, blast beat infested and tremolo-intense style of modern BM, Faustcoven was born.
Aknowledging the enormous legacy of Black Sabbath and the heavieness and atmosphere of classic doom, these elements were thrown into the mix. The lyrics are typically inspired by occult/evil 80's metal and old-school horror movies and novels.[Last FM]
