Thurisaz - Circadian Rhythm

Thurisaz is a Belgian atmospheric melodic black/death metal band.
They started out under the name 'Modilium' and brought doom death metal.
After making the album 'the last embrace' they changed their name to 'Thurisaz' and made a demo named 'Anno Viroviacum' and later an album named 'Scent of a Dream'.

Yngizarm/Zuriaake Split

Two Black Metal bands from China. Zuriaake tried to give you a mournful and tranquil ambience, along with a artistic conception of Chinese landscape painting, with ancient poetic lyrics. Yngizarm in Vygur means "new city", it locates to the southwest China, the rim of the Tarim basin. The band named itself Yngizarm, keeping the ancient spirits in mind, and provided you a pagan epic impression.

I highly recommend this split, it shows promise of a exploratory Black Metal scene in China.

Gaahlskagg - Erotic Funeral

Gaahlskagg is a side project of Gaahl, the vocalist of the Norwegian black metal band Gorgoroth. They play raw old-school black metal with some industrial tendencies. On upcoming albums the drumming duties will apparently be handled by three session members - Jan Atle, Dirge Rep and Sjt. Erichsen.

Not Quite The End...

Everytime something worthwhile dies, another comes to raise the banner.
I am new to this but not that new to black metal. I will try my best to give recommendations to worthwhile BM. If anyone has a link to contribute please tell me so.

I am not sure if Attila will contribute anymore but his reign of terror will not be forgotten.
I hope I can fill this place alright and I will update as much as possible but like most people in the world, I do have a life.

Averse Sefira

Averse Sefira is a black metal band. They are one of the most popular black metal bands from Austin, Texas in the United States.The band is apparently the only black metal outfit from the States to perform live on three continents, including North America, Europe and South America, where they have a particularly rabid following. They are currently signed to England's Candlelight Records.
Averse Sefira is cited predominantly by death metal stalwarts such as Immolation, Nile and Demilich, but they also seem to have strong alliances with European black metal groups like Antaeus, Secrets Of The Moon and Watain.Bassist Wrath Sathariel Diabolus is also known for his work with New Jersey Black Metallers Krieg. He appears as guitarist on their live album Kill Yourself Or Someone You Love.

Dawn - Slaughtersun (Crown of the Triarchy)

The history of DAWN goes as far back as 1990 when founder member and guitarist Fredrik Söderberg left his former band, OBDURACY. (Even earlier than that, back in 1985 - 1986, Fredrik also was a member of CRANIUM who later changed their name to LEGION.)

Hailing from Linköping, Sweden and therefore being close friends with death metal cult band SEANCE, it was not long before Patrik Jensen (today in THE HAUNTED and WITCHERY) recommended Fredrik a new guitarist, Andreas Fullmestad (formerly in MORGUE).

Fredrik and Andreas got together and the unit was completed by drummer Karsten Larsson and bassist Dennis Karlsson (both ex Mortified members). The final addition to this early DAWN line up was Henke Forss (FUNERAL FEAST, IN FLAMES), providing the band with death growls from hell.[Last FM]

The band was formed somewhere around 1993 when flyers started circulating in the undergorund. The band IS french and a member of The Black Legions [this information was varified with certin members of the now defunct Les Legions Noires. The band released one demo ["Sodomize The Dead (For Satan)] through the swedish label Near Dark Productions (which is probebly why many have mistaken the band for a Swedish one). *All band members participated in the band Brenoritvrezorkre at one point or another.

Blasphemy (Canada) - Fallen Angel of Doom

The Canadian outfit known as Blasphemy was formed in 1984. They are known for creating a small subgenre known as "War Metal". Each member does not go by their real name, but rather, a long and evil alias. Blasphemy is considered a black metal band, and while the guitar riffs/solos and blast beat drumming certainly fit the black metal mold, the vocals have a more death metal edge to them, similar to Von or Sarcofago. They are recognized as being one of the first, if not THE first, band to play black metal in Canada, at a time when few metal scenes around the world had even heard of black metal.
Despite the fact that their releases are few in number, and they have not released a full length album in over 10 years, Blasphemy is not broken up as of this writing. The members still rehearse from time to time.

Clandestine Blaze - Night of the Unholy Flames

Clandestine Blaze is the one-man black metal attack of the owner of Finnish label Northern Heritage, Mikko Aspa. Aspa has recently become the vocalist for Deathspell Omega, and also has a few side projects such as Stabat Mater, Fleshpress, Creamface, Nicole 12, Grunt, Clinic of Torture and Alchemy of the 20th Century, hel also played in Morbid Savouring. Aspa also owns the Power Electronics label Freak Animal and is the editor of Erotic Perversion magazine and Public Obscenities videos. Clandestine Blaze has done a collaboration with the Finnish band Satanic Warmaster and a split with Deathspell Omega before Mikko was the singer. Clandestine Blaze has done also 4 albums, 1 EP and 5 demos. The music is inspired by such Norwegian groups as Darkthrone and Burzum.

Nachtmystium - Demise

Nachtmystium is a black metal band from Illinois that has featured members from other luminary USBM acts such as Weltmacht, Krieg, and Judas Iscariot.
Formed in 1999 by guitarist Blake Judd (aka Azentrius), Nachtmystium debuted with their first demo, Holocaust of Eternity, and a split with fellow USBM band Zalnik. Their first full-length, Reign of the Malicious, was released in 2002, and since then, they have released 2 EPs, Nachtmystium (2003) and Eulogy IV (2004), and 2 full-length albums, Demise (2004) and Instinct: Decay (2006). Nachtmystium has had various splits with the major USBM bands, including Xasthur and Krieg, and an upcoming split with Leviathan.

Black Murder

Black Murder is a side project to The Black Legions band, Vlad Tepes. Worlok has stated that this side project differs very much from Vlad Tepes, as in this band he is the composer, and in Vlad Tepes, Wlad composed most of the work. He also describes his music as compositions of murder, in which he imagines killing.

Mütiilation

Mütiilation is a one-man black metal band that was affiliated with the Les Légions Noires (or LLN). It was formed in 1991 by Willy Roussel (Meyhna'ch), and soon after became affiliated with the LLN. After their first full length, Vampires Of Black Imperial Blood (which was also the only LLN full length), Mütiilation were removed from the LLN due to Willy's drug problems. They are also the only band ever affiliated with the LLN that has kept going after 1998. Mütiilation is still around today.

Urfaust

Beatrik

The origin of Beatrik goes back to Autumn 1998 when Frozen Glare Smara wrote the first pieces of music: these were completed and become real whole songs only one year later, thanks to the lyrical contribute by Berzerk, but it took one more for Beatrìk to finalize a recording and release their official first demo tape. In september 2000 "Flames" came out in only 50 copies. Frozen Glare Smara himself played all instruments, vocals included, only helped by a programmed drums. The music was clearly inspired by scandinavian bands, with their fast rhythms and raw sounds and the tape got a good criticism. These two Beatrik albums are top notch depressive black metal albums. All hail this italian black metal band.
