Sterbend are a five piece band from Greven in Germany. Formed in the year 2000, Sterbend consists of several members of both Nyktalgia and Krieg respectively. As you'd expect from a band consisting of several members of Nyktalgia, Sterbend are considered a "Depressive" or "Suicidal" Black Metal outfit. Their Lyrics are english and german. The Vocals are very high (similary as Aaskereia). There debut album"Dweling Lifeless" let the listener remember to Burzum/Nargaroth. Sometimes a little bit to very... but all in all its good produced and also the instrumental skills of the musicians of "Sterbend" is exellent.

Havohej was formed by Paul Ledney after his former band, Profanatica, dissolved in 1992, having released only demos, EPs, and splits during its lifetime. Ledney recorded a Havohej demo in 1993 entitled "Unholy Darkness and Impurity". In 1994, Havohej's first (and to this date only) full-length, "Dethrone the Son of God" was released. This album featured some re-recordings of Profanatica classics, as well as entirely new songs. Paul Ledney was the only member of the band, but his ex-Profanatica bandmate Brett Makowski helped with some guitar and bass parts. The style was similar to Profanatica. Since then, Havohej has issued three EPs (two in 1994, one in 2000) which showcase a different style utilizing extremely distorted guitars and a focus on percussion and vocals.

The German Viking and Pagan Metal scene was established some 10 years ago by bands like Menhir, Adorned Brood and Riger, a scene that has spawned an awesome amount of bands with mostly German lyrics, of which Equilibrium was the first to gain huge international success. One of these many bands is Thrudvangar who released their debut album "Ahnenthron" in 2004, which got sold out without a problem and got them a record deal.
Thrudvangar play a style of Viking Metal, which is dominated by great growls, heavy guitars, melodic keyboards and very catchy song-writing.

Yes there are certain links between Alcest and Black Metal but Alcest is NOT Black Metal. I love this style of music and that is why I want to underline this. I don't know what is Alcest in terms of musical genre but certainly not dark music.

Isenburg is a One-Man-Black-Metal project from Germany, Isenburg released one full length album called Erzgebirge. A solo project by 'Steffen Thümmel ' a German guy (who is also part of the band Persecution) , Isenburg plays a heavy brand of epic and at times traditional sounding heavy metal/black metal. Nothing much is known about the artist, since most of the literature about Isenburg is in German and its extremely limited.
Imagine a German Graveland but take away the true, epic, Viking feel and replace it with beer drinking German tourists, the result being Erzgebirge; it sounds metal, but also rather silly.
