Wolves In The Throne Room (WITTR) is a US Black Metal band from Olympia, Washington. WITTR have a sort of mystical witch idealogy of the beautiful forests in Olympia, Washington (their homeland), which they blend into their music with elements of raw black metal and punk. The band is currently vying for a completely organic, back-to-their-roots sort of lifestyle. They live together in a house in the woods, grow their own food, cultivate their own livestock and scorn the consumer-based traditions of the modern world.

Their '09 release, Black Cascade , feat their new 'drone' guitarist, is significantly better than this debut ( and still #1 on my List for this year). Live, they are quite intense and adept.
